South Dublin County Council announced the return of its Environmental Education Grant. The grant will support the delivery of environmental and climate action workshops across South Dublin County during 2026 and 2027, including as part of SDCC Eco Week and Dublin Climate Action Week.

ESF+ EIST Gender Equality Action Funding will support projects that advance gender equality and improve women’s access to employment, activation supports, career progression and economic empowerment. Particular emphasis will be placed on supporting women who face barriers due to gender inequality and other forms of disadvantage.

Following the conversations and feedback from Round 2, we have developed draft Work Plans for our three Linkage Groups. We are now inviting members to help shape these plans and identify the next steps for each group.

A range of events and activities will be taking place across local libraries in the coming weeks, offering opportunities for all ages to get involved. From workshops and talks to family-friendly sessions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Clondalkin Health Project has a busy programme of health and wellbeing activities taking place at Rowlagh Community Centre throughout September.

Upcoming activities include sound bath sessions, a charity tea dance, a Parents and Carers Wellness Workshop, a free six-week Living Well with Arthritis programme, yoga, dance fitness, social singing and a COPD support group.

Self-paced online training is available for PPN stakeholders through Social Justice Ireland. Modules cover topics including PPNs, local government, consultations, facilitation, strategic planning and measuring outcomes.

Available to PPN workers, Secretariat members, representatives, member groups, Local Authority staff and elected councillors.

South Dublin County Volunteer Centre is hosting a workshop exploring how volunteer programmes can create a greater sense of inclusion and belonging.

South Dublin County Partnership is offering a free six-week Introduction to Community Development course, exploring the key principles and models of community development.

The course is funded through SICAP, and eligibility criteria apply. Priority will be given to people living in disadvantaged communities, low-income households, one-parent families and people with disabilities.

South Dublin County Council is inviting the public to share their views on proposed Safe Routes to School improvements at Scoil Naomh Áine on New Road, Clondalkin.

The proposed works aim to create a safer environment for children walking, cycling or scooting to school. They will include improved crossing facilities, road treatments and measures to highlight the school’s presence and encourage motorists to reduce their speed.

The consultation closes  Wednesday, 16 September 2026.

South Dublin Local Community Safety Partnership is seeking a Resident Representative for the Firhouse/Bohernabreena electoral area.

Resident Associations in the area are invited to nominate someone who lives locally, is actively involved in their association and is committed to promoting inclusion, respect and collaboration.

The voluntary representative will help bring residents’ views to the Partnership, identify local community safety priorities and contribute to the development of a Local Community Safety Plan.

Fáilte Ireland is inviting people to share their experiences of accessible and inclusive tourism in Ireland. The survey covers areas including transport, accommodation, attractions and visitor experiences, helping to identify barriers and priorities for future development.

South Dublin County Council is inviting submissions and observations on 20 proposed material amendments to the Clonburris Strategic Development Zone Planning Scheme 2019.

September is International Recovery Month, and the Tallaght Drug and Alcohol Task Force has organised a wide range of events throughout the month to celebrate recovery, hope and community.

The programme includes recovery walks, family events, wellbeing activities, support sessions, talks and community celebrations.

A new national awareness campaign has been launched to highlight the important role of Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) in supporting and strengthening communities across Ireland.

A dedicated online resource hub provides information on the work of LCDCs, Local Economic and Community Plans (LECPs), training resources, and videos showcasing LCDCs in action.

The resource is useful for community and voluntary groups, PPN members, and local organisations looking to learn more about community development structures and supports in their area.

The Arts in Education National Day takes place on Saturday 7 November 2026 at TU Dublin.

This year’s theme is “The Future is Creative: Why arts and creativity in education matter more than ever.”

Artists, educators, teachers, academics and creative practitioners are invited to submit presentations or workshops exploring areas such as arts in education and AI or creativity, nature and sustainability.

Deadline for submissions: Wednesday 16 September 2026.

SDG Week 2026 takes place from 19–27 September 2026.

Communities, organisations and groups are invited to get involved by hosting events and activities that promote the Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainability Plan is a free online resource helping schools, community groups, sports clubs and businesses create a sustainability plan tailored to their organisation.

The resource was recently launched by the Blessington Allotments Campaign and Blessington Tourist Office.

The Roadmap for Social Inclusion 2026–2030 was launched at the 2026 Social Inclusion Forum. This key document outlines the Government’s commitment to tackling poverty and social exclusion and is an important resource for the community and voluntary sector.

The South Dublin County Intercultural Artists’ Network invites you to FORUM, a free two-day festival celebrating the county’s diverse artistic voices.

The programme includes panel discussions, film screenings, workshops, visual arts, performances, a book launch, poetry open mic and an evening artists’ showcase with music, dance, theatre and a DJ.
